Typography and illustration merge into one unit that interprets and accentuates the text visually. Kafka’s story is a parable about the insulation of the artist from his audience through his work, whose true nature is finally understood. For the lettering of this bibliophile edition of the 26 letters plus punctuation marks were carved in Linolplatten and then digitized in order to make it through the rough, edgy and cool image of the font in the torn protagonists themselves felt.
