A new job

For those not already in the loop, I happen to work as a librarian in a leading university. It's a tough gig, as I'm sure you can imagine, but someone's got to do it. I recently heard through the grapevine that something's going down - a change is in the air. That's right. A change. A big change: I'm going to be chasing up fines - following leads and tailing suspects.

It's my first year on the job - who can I look to for inspiration under these circumstances? I need a stern role model with the courage of their convictions; a maverick that trusts their gut instinct; someone not afraid to work on a hunch. And it's not long before I find the example I'm yearning for: Mr. Bookman, the library cop.
